This video proves that you don’t need regulations when you can regulate yourself. It shows a huge intersections in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, but there’s one essential element missing – the traffic lights. Everybody enters the intersection at once, then stops and gives the right of way until it’s their turn to go. It may appear chaotic but it works, just like a hive mind of ants at work. All it takes is a little common sense.
These Ethiopians might be on to something here. Can you imagine how this would work on the streets of, say, New York City?
