Back in 2013, the Grand Sport Vitesse, hit a top speed of 254 mph. But tuner John Hennessey thought his creation, Venom GT Spyder, could go faster. Turns out, yes, a Venom GT Spyder can go faster. What speed did it hit? 265.6 mph. Yeah, that’s pretty darn fast—fast enough to set the claimed world record for fastest convertible. Talk about wind in your hair. Of course, that’s what you will get when you stuff a twin-turbo 7.0-liter V8 making 1451 horsepower and 1287 lb.-ft. of torque in the lightweight, modified Lotus Elise chassis. Not even the quad-turbo W12 could top that.
That was really over the top. What do you think of this next video?
