Way back in 1983, Thrust 2, a jet propelled car was hailed as the world’s fastest car. It broke the record held by the Blue Flame for 13 years. The car was designed by John Ackroyd and driven by Richard Noble. The car impressively broke the record at 633.468 mph. The record was held for 14 years from 1983 to 1997 until it was beaten by ThrustSSC. Don’t worry, the car was also from the same team and was driven by Richard Noble. It achieved a speed of 763mph which is now the current land speed record ever made. Since then, no other cars have beaten the record yet. Noble, however is currently working on the new Bloodhound SSC, hoping to beat his record one more time!
