Quacky Races! Technology Used In Self-Driving Cars Is Being Tested In Toy Taxis Carrying Rubber DUCKS Around A Tiny Town

Article Written by : Legendary Videos

As kids, we use toys to model a real world and learn how things work, so it’s kind of funny to learn that one of the world’s most prestigious technical institutes mode lground breaking technology with the rubber ducks driving around a mock city called Duckietown. Using funding from a National Science Foundation, MIT students built 50 mini taxis for rubber ducks. Using the single camera and no preprogramed maps, the cars make their way around a town, stopping at intersections and yielding for other cars. This technology looks pretty cool but it appears that the duck mobiles have a hard time staying inside their lanes.
