Tony Cairoli finally emerged from his slump and put his bike on the top step of the podium in back to back motos at Teutschenthal this past weekend. He took the overall victory in dominating fashion, rocketing out to great starts in both races and even fighting back to the lead after a battle with Tim Gasjer. It had been since May of last year at the Matterly Basin GP that Cairoli had taken an overall victory, a pretty lengthy drought for a rider of his magnitude. He is one of the most decorated riders in the world today, owning an incredible eight world motocross championships. Potentially, this could give him the confidence that he’s needed after moving up to 450cc machine from the 350cc machine and allow him to challenge Febvre and Gasjer for the title.
