Anything can go wrong in racing and this is exactly what happened to Kurt “Misito” Garmendia. He was attempting to obtain his NHRA Liscence in a Grand National (tube chassis) but ended up in a fatal crash. Just like what you can see from this footage, Misito was able to launch the car perfectly well but right after hitting the finish line, things escalated quickly and the car was suddenly on fire. According to some reports, the car pedal got stuck and he goes all the way to the steel wall or barrier. It was a horrible accident indeed and the driver died of sever burns due to the negligence of the track operator in Salinas Puerto Rico. Misito is well known for being the owner of La Pulga (The Flea) which is dubbed as the fastest Hyundai in the world with the record of 9.25s at 153 mph.
