Back in 1972, BMW revealed the can dubbed as the 1602e. It was the first BMW electric car and it was released just during the Summer Olympic games in Munich. BMW now remembers their first car and they’ve made an interesting video depicting it and acknowledging that the newest i3 is actually a successor to the rather nice looking 1602e. 700 pounds of batteries were used back then for that car which could travel for 37 miles before recharging.
